Are parties allowed to redact portions of documents they consider irrelevant to the litigation? Before a party is faced with a discovery request for production of information that may be irrelevant, it is important to know whether a court may compel production of documents in their entirety when the documents may have information in them that is irrelevant to the litigation and that the party does not want disclosed to the opposing side or the public.

The Office of Judicial Administration recently proposed amendments to Criminal Rule 2.1 and Trial Rule 3.1 that would require cell phone numbers to be included on appearances. The Indianapolis Bar Association surveyed attorney members on this change and subsequently, through the association's board of directors, submitted comment on the proposed amendments to the Indiana Supreme Court Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure
