Rule of Law Committee
The Rule of Law Committee was created by the Indianapolis Bar Association with the mission of making the Rule of Law ever-present, relevant, and accessible to both legal professionals and the public. The Committee and its initiative focuses on education, collaboration, and serving as a resource for lawyers, volunteers, and citizens.

Law Week - Law Day Rally
The Indianapolis Bar Association will again celebrate Law Week with a Law Day Rally on Thursday, April 30 at noon on the plaza of the Birch Bayh Federal Building & U.S. Courthouse. Legal professionals from across the state joined in on a powerful demonstration reaffirming their responsibility to defend the rule of law, judicial independence, and the independence of the legal profession. Essay Contest (High school students)
High school students across Indiana are invited to reflect on the constitution that continues to shape our life today in a short (500-700 word) essay. First, second and third place essays will receive a monetary award and recogntion at the Indiana 1851 Constitutional Symposium on November 5, 2026. The contest will open on August 10 with a deadline of September. More details to come.
The Rule of Law Committee has many events planned including a celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, Constitution Day, election observer training to support free and fair elections, and more.
