Tuesday, April 2, 2019, was Equal Pay Day. A recent study conducted by the American Association of University Women shows that Indiana falls well below the national average in wage parity. Indiana men are paid 37 percent more than their female peers. The national median average is around 25 percent, according to the report.

Today is equal pay day. April 2, 2019 is the date that symbolizes how far into this year women must work to earn what men earned in 2018. Based on census data, the average wage gap between women and men is $0.80; however, the gap is far wider for women of color.

You asked. We listened. Last fall, the Women and the Law Division surveyed its members about what programming they would like the WLD to provide. The responses overwhelmingly indicated that our members would like the WLD to provide more information regarding current issues that affect women. The WLD is excited and eager to take on this role.
