You asked. We listened. Last fall, the Women and the Law Division surveyed its members about what programming they would like the WLD to provide. The responses overwhelmingly indicated that our members would like the WLD to provide more information regarding current issues that affect women. The WLD is excited and eager to take on this role.
The WLD has selected equal pay as our featured topic for 2019. Equal pay is a topic that affects all working women, including attorneys. Regardless of your work setting, the issues surrounding equal pay – salaries, promotions, leaves of absences, and many more – affect you. Female lawyers are an integral part of the legal community and they deserve equal pay for their work.
Our goal is to provide you with factual information about equal pay. We hope you can use this information to inform yourselves and others about this issue. We will also provide recommendations for available resources in the event you would like to learn even more. Overall, we intend to weave this topic into our events and conversations throughout the year.
