It’s August and an opportune time to applaud our minority members who’ve met, with uncompromised grace, the challenges of owning their own law firm. Recently, we sat down for a quick chat with Ranissa Dycus, owner of the Law Office of Ranissa Dycus to discuss successes, time travel and the importance of having a mentor.

The spirit of Antoinette Dakin Leach lives on through each award winner including this year’s recipient, Judge Doris Pryor, who was recently nominated by President Joe Biden to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and currently sits on the federal bench at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. She exemplifies the definition of a trailblazer in the legal profession, as evident by her recent nomination.

We are excited to partner with IndyBar and the Women and the Law Division to help support and provide opportunities for women to achieve professional success. Taft supports women in leadership positions at our firm and in the business community through our Gender Advancement Committee and Women of Taft - Indianapolis affinity group. Collectively, we strive to strengthen existing relationships with women clients who own or manage businesses or other organizations and to forge new and continuing relationships with professional and executive women in our community.
