The Marion County Judicial Selection Committee is beginning the process of selecting names to send to Governor Holcomb to fill a Republican vacancy on the Marion Superior Court. The vacancy will occur when Judge Lisa Borges retires on December 31, 2020.

The Crisis Empowerment Grant Program was a wholesale success! More than 110 cases were settled and dozens of cases have been finalized and paid out. More than 40 cases are still active and the selected lawyers continue to work with their clients to assist with their legal issues.

On Tuesday evening, the Seventh Circuit issued its decision staying Judge Sarah Evans Barker's order that would have required mail-in absentee ballots to be counted through November 13. In issuing a stay, the Seventh Circuit also summarily reversed her injunction.

The Indianapolis Bar Association's Nominating Committee has announced the selection of Rebecca Geyer as the 2023 President of the Indianapolis Bar Association. Geyer will serve as the association's First Vice President on the 2021 Board of Directors and as President Elect in 2022. Geyer is the founder of her firm, Rebecca W. Geyer & Associates P.C., which is a small firm that provides services in estate planning, estate and trust administration, elder law, tax planning and business services.

Marion Superior Court is accepting resumes for a full-time Magistrate or Commissioner. This position may be assigned either to a rotation within the Marion Superior Court system (Criminal, Civil Division, Family Transition Court, Juvenile Court, and/or) or to the Initial Hearing Court (IHC).
