On Tuesday evening, the Seventh Circuit issued its decision staying Judge Sarah Evans Barker's order that would have required mail-in absentee ballots to be counted through November 13. In issuing a stay, the Seventh Circuit also summarily reversed her injunction.

This means that the noon deadline for receipt of mail-in absentee ballots remains in effect. The county election board must receive mailed absentee ballots by noon on election day, regardless of the postmarked date of the ballot.

For individuals in Marion County, absentee ballots can also be dropped off at the Clerk's Office at the City County Building. The drop box is located just inside the Clerk's Office.

Absentee ballots in Marion County must be requested by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, October 22. For more information on voting by absentee ballot in Marion County, click here.
