The Indiana Supreme Court Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure has posted four proposed rule amendments online for public comment.   

On Saturday, March 20, 2021, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana came under the leadership of a new chief judge, the Honorable Tanya Walton Pratt. She succeeds Judge Jane E. Magnus-Stinson. Chief Judge Pratt is the first person of color to serve as the Southern District of Indiana's chief judge, and the tenth chief judge in the court's history.

It has been a busy week at the Statehouse as legislators move to advance legislation before the 2nd reading deadline of April 19.

The IndyBar Women and the Law Division (WLD) recognizes a need to honor female attorneys who are on the path to becoming trailblazers while also demonstrating a commitment to mentoring others. Not only are these women the future leaders in the legal profession, but they are making a concerted effort to help mentor and train future trailblazers.

The Indiana General Assembly has completed its second full week in the second half of session.  This week, 61 bills were heard in committee by both chambers. Looking ahead to next week, a total of 47 bills are scheduled to be heard in committee in both chambers.

Technology makes delivering legal services more efficient. As recognized by the ABA Commission on Ethics 20/20 back in 2011, this is not news to the legal community.  However, this fundamental transformation, adapting technology, software and services, is not without risks.
