On Thursday November 7, 2019, the IndyBar Women and the Law Division hosted the 2019 Antoinette Dakin Leach (ADL) Award Luncheon honoring Judge Heather Welch. More than 150 judges, lawyers and members of the Indianapolis community attended the luncheon to support and honor Judge Welch. Judge Tonya Walton Pratt, a former ADL Award Recipient, made opening remarks about Judge Welch and the path Judge Welch has trailblazed for other female attorneys.

IndyBar Women and the Law Division and Board of Directors member Detra Lynn Mills was recently featured in Vanguard Magazine (pages 167-171) for her philanthropic work with Coburn Place Safe Haven. Coburn Place is a home that provides supportive services for survivors of domestic violence. Mills, who serves on the Coburn Place Board of Directors, is passionate about Coburn Place’s mission to empower victims of interpersonal abuse to live as survivors.

The California-based tech firm, Genesys, which acquired Indianapolis-based software maker Interactive Intelligence for $1.4 billion in 2016, has made measurable, albeit small, progress since the launch. It has seen a 1.4% increase in women employees among its worldwide workforce of nearly 5,500, including more than 800 employees in Indianapolis, its biggest worksite.
