The Big Law Breakfast with the Bar was a huge success! This was the largest-attended student-led IndyBar event, with around 50 students signed up. The purpose of this event was to educate law students on what recruiters at big law firms are looking for, what led big law attorneys to their practice, and the culture at these large firms. Read on for a recap of what was discussed!

On November 3, the Indianapolis Bar Association Student Division hosted Breakfast with the Bar, focusing on Criminal Law. We heard from attorneys from the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, Marion County Public Defender’s Office, and private practice.

The fall 2022 nomination period for the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Law Student Division Executive Board has begun. There are At-Large positions available among the three Indiana law schools (Maurer, McKinney and Notre Dame). This is a unique and exciting opportunity to be involved with the planning and implementation of the IndyBar student activities while also enhancing your leadership skills.

This past Thursday October 6, the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Law Student Division hosted an Alternative Dispute Resolution themed breakfast with the bar. The food was great and the conversation was better!

On Friday, September 30th, the IndyBar Law Student Division provided an opportunity for law students to meet and learn from practitioners in the Indianapolis legal community on the topic of small and solo law firms. Each of the practitioners shared their experience on how they landed in a small or solo firm, the lessons they learned along the way, as well as advice for those students who are interested in hanging their own shingle in the future.

On Thursday, July 21, the IndyBar Association Law Student Division hosted a civil rights-focused Breakfast with the Bar morning gathering. This event featured four attorneys practicing civil rights law and allowed students to ask questions and discuss civil rights in the Hoosier state.
