The 2025 IndyBar Bench Bar Conference, presented by Wilson Kehoe Winingham LLC, will be hosted at French Lick Springs Resort & Casino from June 19-June 21. Some of our readers may be thinking “oh yes, another Bench Bar, I’m sure this conference is the same as they’ve always been.” The Bench Bar Committee grew tired of hearing these exclamations, so they did something about it! This year’s programming has been completely revamped to focus on elements that have a major impact on the daily practice of an attorney.

Thanks to the generosity of the IndyBar Appellate Section Jill Ellis Scholarship, I was able to attend the Appellate Judges Education Institute (AJEI) Summit in Boston last November. 

The AJEI is the preeminent provider of appellate judicial education in the United States, but all lawyers are invited to attend the Summit and join the federal and state appellate judges from across the country in practical and engaging educational programming. Attending a conference with this crowd is an education itself.

There is a fascinating background on how the members of IndyBar's Women & The Law Division were able to create a coloring book celebrating amazing women in Hoosier History. In a round-about way, this idea was inspired by Hoosier Women themselves, but it really became a reality because of both Judge Marchal's daughter and my daughter.
