In a rare "immediately effective" law change, HEA 1056 changed the recording law to allow for either an acknowledgment or a proof by disinterested witness. The law was effective on Feb. 18, 2021. This change impacts general document recording requirements, specifically environmental restrictive covenants and certificates of completion.

The National Toxicology Program (an arm of the National Institutes of Health) recently published three draft technical reports on substances widely used in commercial manufacturing and other processes. It is soliciting comments on the drafts, to be considered at an upcoming meeting on April 2, 2021.
