A Marion County teen will retain his delinquent adjudications for felony theft and robbery after the Indiana Court of Appeals determined the trial court properly admitted fingerprint evidence tying the teen to the crimes in question.

The group is an advisory group covering all avenues of juvenile justice. ICJI desires input on policy, areas of need around the state, and any other relevant topics that need to be addressed. For instance, the current advisory group has identified rights of the juvenile offender as an area of improvement.

The Marion County Judicial Selection Committee (MCJSC) is beginning the process of selecting names to send to the Governor to fill three vacancies. The vacancies will occur when the terms for Judges Thomas Carroll, Michael Keele, and Becky Pierson-Treacy expire in 2018.

On March 12 and 13 the Marion County Judicial Selection Committee (MCJSC) will conduct interviews of the incumbent trial court judges seeking retention. The interviews will take place in Room 319 of the State House in Indianapolis. The interviews are open to the public, and the schedule is as follows.

Criminal Courts 20 and 21 will be launching a pilot project for their combined initial hearings. During the project, inmate defendants will no longer be transported to the City-County Building for the initial hearings; instead, they will participate in video conferencing with the court while remaining at the Marion County Jail.
