The Marion County Felony Diversion Program began operation in December of 2017 and provides evidence based programming designed to improve an offender’s quality of life, reduce recidivism, and break the cycle of criminal activity. All offenders accepted into the program are placed on pre-trial probation supervised by the program’s probation officer of Marion County Probation Department. 

Recently, a judge in California cleared thousands of criminal records with one stroke of his pen. He did it thanks to a ground-breaking new algorithm that reduces a process that took months to mere minutes. The programmers behind it say: we’re just getting started solving America’s urgent problems.

An effort to change Indiana law so that children as young as 12 could face attempted murder charges in adult court has failed in the state Legislature.

Indiana is among several states to change their approach to the restoration of a person's rights and status after an arrest or conviction. In the last two years, more than 20 states have expanded or added laws to help people move on from their criminal records.
