The Indianapolis Bar Foundation’s Evening Under the Stars Gala & Auction is on September 21, and it’s time to book your babysitter! Busy lawyers always need a night to relax, and there’s no better place than Evening Under the Stars. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the IBF, and the event will be extra special as we celebrate with a “Golden Gala”. Attendees will enjoy a plated dinner, silent and live auctions, a live raffle, special golden anniversary door prizes and even an after-party complete with live music and dancing.

The spirit of Antoinette Dakin Leach lives on through each award winner and this year’s recipient, Chief Judge Robyn L. Moberly of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Indiana. She embodies the definition of a "trailblazer" in the legal profession as Indiana's first female to be appointed to the federal bankruptcy bench. She began a 14-year term on the court in November 2012 and was appointed Chief Judge in 2014. She's taken on leadership roles that aren't typically held by women and has demonstrated an admirable commitment to our legal community.

This fall, IndyBar members will be honored for their contributions to our legal community. The Indianapolis legal community is fortunate to be home to many talented, dedicated professionals, and we need your help in identifying our colleagues who went above and beyond this past year!​

IndyBar volunteer attorneys will provide free legal assistance as a service to the public through Legal Line, coming up on Tuesday, August 14 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Bar Leader Series Steering Committee has finalized the roster for its 16th class. Congratulations to the upcoming participants!

The “Funding Our Future” Campaign, aimed at funding a new home for the Indianapolis Bar Association and Foundation, is focused on building a new space for the IndyBar to better serve our members’ and community’s needs in the current and future legal climate.

You know what they say: if you don’t change, you won’t grow. Well, the IndyBar wants to help you grow your practice in Indiana, so we’ve been making some changes. We’re updating our services and adding new members-only resources to our arsenal of benefits and products — the most recent of which is our recently expanded and editable legal document library, and it’s now ready for use for no additional charge by any and all IndyBar members.

Pro bono service is a rewarding — and expected — component of the practice of law. With reporting requirements now in place, the need to find opportunities that fit varied schedules, practice areas and interests  is  greater than ever.
