Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Under the dynamic leadership of IndyBar President Jimmie McMillian, we're celebrating Juneteenth at Bench Bar to bring awareness to our members about this significant piece of history. More importantly, the Juneteenth workshop session will highlight and recognize the experiences and significant contributions that Black attorneys have made to our legal community.

As the world is starting to focus more on diversity and inclusion due to racial tensions and injustice and hate crimes, it is important that the legal profession be a leader in promoting diversity and inclusion. As a profession that is committed to upholding equality and justice, it is our duty to ensure that we set the example with a team of diverse judges, lawyers, paralegals and legal staff.

We’re living through strange days, indeed. But one thing about time marching on is that the days tend to get stranger.
