As the world is starting to focus more on diversity and inclusion due to racial tensions and injustice and hate crimes, it is important that the legal profession be a leader in promoting diversity and inclusion. As a profession that is committed to upholding equality and justice, it is our duty to ensure that we set the example with a team of diverse judges, lawyers, paralegals and legal staff. The ABA says, "A diverse legal profession is more just, productive and intelligent because diversity, both cognitive and cultural, often leads to better questions, analyses, solutions and processes." This article published by the American Bar Association explains the necessity for diversity within the legal profession and the impact that it can have, not only on the profession, but on society as a whole.
