Attorneys at firms of all sizes must deal with the struggle to balance their home life and working life. With technology, it is easier than ever to take your work home with you so that you can be "in the office" even when you're not literally in the office. One large firm is making it easier to do just that, but says it hopes this will allow greater flexibility for its employees so that home life is actually enhanced.

Ropes & Gray, headquartered in Boston, released a memo stating that starting September 1, the firm will make work equipment available at home (i.e. computer monitors, docking stations, phones, etc.)

While it remains to be seen as to whether or not other Biglaw firms will implement similar practices of this magnitude, it does raise an interesting question of whether or not taking your work home can improve home-work balance rather than hinder it.
