By Che’lee John, Hoover Hull Turner LLP
I am an associate at Hoover Hull Turner LLP, and I focus my practice on business and appellate litigation as well as professional liability defense. I have experience navigating complex litigation in both federal and state courts, representing commercial clients in disputes relating to trade secrets, non-competes, products liability and contract cases. I work almost daily with clients going through discovery and have learned that understanding e-discovery is a key part of the litigation process.
I earned my Juris Doctorate from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University and my A.B. in Psychology and Native American Studies from Dartmouth College. Aside from my current practice, I also have experience representing Indigenous Tribes and People in tribal, state and federal courts. As an Indigenous woman myself (Diné/Navajo), I am passionate about putting my legal knowledge to work on behalf of Indigenous People.
In my personal life, I spend my time trying to keep up with my very energetic five-year-old daughter and trying not to discuss the law and billable hours with my lawyer husband Travis Lovett. We live on a 120-year-old farm in rural Lebanon and have several chickens, geese and of course our loyal farm dogs and cat to keep us busy. I am also a lifelong equestrian and enjoy sharing the sport with my daughter. We recently adopted a retired racehorse who I am retraining to compete in hunter-jumpers and three-day eventing.
When away from the farm, I enjoy hiking, going to concerts, watching the Colts and sipping old fashioneds at steakhouses with my husband. In the moments between my work and personal life, I love listening to true crime podcasts, riding my Peloton and meditating.
