Florida Condominium Trial Expected Summer 2022

Civil litigation over the collapse of the Surfside beachfront condominiums in a suburb of Miami, FL on June 24, 2021 is expected to conclude in the summer of 2022. Judge Michael Hanzman encouraged attorneys for those seeking compensation for the tragedy, in which 98 people were killed, not to appear before the court unless they can be ready for trial next summer.

Insurers have contributed over $50 million to the victim compensation pool, with billions in liability at stake. The criminal probe is expected to take several years. Read more.
