The weather is getting better, the flowers are blooming, birds are chirping, which can only mean one thing. Yes, the Indy 500… but also, Bench Bar is right around the corner! Join us from June 11-13 in beautiful French Lick, Indiana as we once again bring together members of the bench and bar to connect and strengthen our legal community through open dialogue, shared perspectives, and fellowship.
Co-chairs Judge Melanie Kendrick and Brett Thomas are thrilled with the programming for this year’s conference, which kicks off with former Indianapolis Colt and Super Bowl champion, Gary Brackett, as he shares his unique experience and the value of adaptability in an ever-changing world. Then, David “DJ” Gross will provide an energetic and inspiring presentation on core AI skills, offering attendees a clear roadmap on how to advance their AI proficiency. These programs alone are well worth the price of admission, but there’s more!
The breakout sessions this year will not just aid in meeting CLE requirements, they will provide thoughtfully curated experiences for family, civil, and criminal practitioners. Some of the topics include tracing digital assets, divorces and hidden assets, crimmigration and dealing with high profile media cases, and a voir dire experience that will benefit the most experienced litigators. Each area of practice will have the opportunity to hear directly from judges regarding the best practices and procedures to follow when practicing in the criminal, civil, family, and commercial courts.
Of course, there will be plenty of time to let loose and enjoy the beautiful backdrop in which attendees find themselves, which include golf, pickleball, yoga, a pool party, karaoke, and even a game of musical chairs serving as a fundraiser for the IndyBar Foundation. Once the friendly competition has concluded, there will be plenty of opportunities for attendees to commiserate over a cold cocktail (or mocktail) and dinner.
Bench Bar has long been known as a place where professional lines soften and real conversations happen. It’s where judges and attorneys can exchange ideas candidly, gain insight into each other’s perspectives, and ultimately return to their work with a stronger sense of collaboration.
Whether you’re a seasoned attendee or considering your first Bench Bar experience, this year’s conference offers something for everyone: practical knowledge, meaningful connection, and a reminder that the legal community is strongest when it comes together.
Join us June 11-13 in French Lick for a conference that is as engaging as it is impactful.
Registration is now open, and you won’t want to miss it! We hope to see you there!
