What is your career background?
After a brief stint working in government affairs as a lobbyist, I attended IU-McKinney (and loved it!). I have practiced employment law for 10 years, the majority of which at Barnes & Thornburg LLP. I now work in-house at JD Finish Line where I handle an array of employment, HR, and litigation matters.

WLD's theme this year is "Women in the Driver's Seat". Who has helped you get into the driver's seat in your career, or who inspires you to continue moving forward?
There have been several experienced attorneys who have guided and mentored me along the way, but I would say I am most inspired by my core group of law school friends. We have been each other's cheerleaders throughout our careers, offering advice in the "lows" and praises in the "highs". So lucky to have them consistently over these past 10 years.

Looking ahead, what's next on your career roadmap? Where do you see yourself "driving" your career in the next few years?
Wow, I wish I knew the answer to that, but I think I have learned that we can never exactly know. Sometimes our careers just take us in new directions. I would say, I expect to continue growing as an in-house attorney, expanding my knowledge base to more areas of law, and developing a deeper knowledge of the business-side of things.

As a member of WLD, what do you find most beneficial from your membership?
Definitely the connections. I can count (on more than two hands) the number of amazing legal professionals whom I would not know but for WLD. The Women and the Law Division continues to be a trusted group of growing members who want to connect and engage.

The month of May is often associated with the Indy500 in Indianapolis. Do you have any personal connections, traditions, or plans related to the race or the surrounding events?
Considering a Pacers Eastern Conference final game overlapped this year, I had to go support the team in person! So we made it to the Carb Day instead. Yes-cers!
