Significant Bad Faith Damages Upheld Following Jury Trial - Insurance Coverage

Seven insurers were held liable for nearly $25,000,000 in compensatory damages and $12,500,000 each in bad faith damages, following an eight-day jury trial. The district court held that the state statute capping punitive damages to triple the compensatory damages awarded is applicable to each insurer implicated, not to the aggregate total.
