Florida Insurer Chooses State Policies to Take Over

A Florida insurance startup has taken advantage of state law to “cherry pick” policies held by a state-based insurer. Slide, a 2021 startup helmed by Bruce Lucas, a former corporate attorney, hand-selects policies held by Citizens, a state-run insurer, to take over, usually those with the most insurer-friendly policy terms and conditions.
