The Indianapolis Bar Association and Nomad AV Systems will host training sessions at IndyBarHQ (140 N. Illinois St.) on Wednesday, May 18, Thursday, May 19 and Friday, May 20 for attorney members of the Indianapolis Bar Association, the Marion County Bar Association, the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Indiana and support staff.

As a family law attorney, I have seen the multitude of ways children have been affected by the pandemic, caught in the crossfire of parents arguing over the vaccination; perhaps stuck at home with a parent who does not treat them the best; forced to give up activities and sports that were their outlet and struggling to maintain their grades while learning from home. Even worse, some children simply could not sustain living any longer. This article offers some insight into just how bad things have become for teens and how there has been a rise in teenage suicide during the pandemic.

am here to set the record straight on perception vs. reality on a favorite subject of mine, the CJC. Over the past two years I have been the chair of the Marion Superior Court tech committee. I have lived, breathed, slept and dreamed of the new CJC. Over the past six months, the CJC has been my office, my second home. Advanced directives are essential tools for ensuring one's wishes for medical and end-of-life treatment are known. Unfortunately, people with intellectual or developmental disabilities are often overlooked in discussions surrounding advanced directives. Thanks to a $35,000 grant from the Indianapolis Bar Foundation, a new program from Indiana Disability Rights will empower these individuals to make their important end-of-life choices known.

On Feb. 17, 2022, a historic networking event occurred among the Marion County Bar Association (MCBA), the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Indiana (APABA), Indianapolis Bar Association (IndyBar) and Indianapolis Bar Foundation (IndyBar Foundation).

Everything is a fight. Their demeanor is disrespectful or downright rude. Before you can respond to one motion, they fire off another in an attempt to make you look incompetent. Or they're just unresponsive no matter how many attempts are made via email or phone frustrating you to no end. We've all been there. But how do we deal with frustrating opposing counsel without compromising our ethics and our client's case?

What one parent finds completely normal, the other parent often feels is a developmental delay or an indication of trauma. It is important for parents to have options to help them try to navigate this particular minefield of issues.
