A variety of scholarships are available to attend the 2020 IndyBar Bench Bar Conference June 18-20, 2020 at the French Lick Springs Hotel in French Lick, Indiana. IndyBar's Bench Bar Conference is Indiana's premier event to bring lawyers, judges and paralegals together for a great time and top-notch CLE programming. Scholarships funded by the Indianapolis Bar Foundation will be awarded in addition to those awarded through IndyBar sections and divisions.

The event’s 442 participants included the entire Indiana Supreme Court, approximately half of the Indiana Court of Appeals, some clerks, deputy attorneys general, public defenders and private attorneys. It was a pleasure speaking with my colleagues and counterparts outside of legal correspondence. The opening cocktail reception at the United States Supreme Court was one such instance and a highlight of the event.

One of my partners told me about the Indiana Appellate Institute moot court program. I had never heard of it but thought it would be a great way to have a “dress rehearsal” for the real thing. I applied, my case was accepted and the moot court was scheduled for about a week before my oral argument.
