In June 1997, Mary Schmich wrote an essay for the Chicago Tribune that became known as “Wear Sunscreen.” Twenty-four years and two weeks later, IndyBar Foundation President Adam Christensen presents his attempt at the same, a hat tip to “Wear Sunscreen,” tailored for our profession and our times.

The rule amendments are adopted, effective July 1, 2021.

As anyone trying to buy a house in 2021 knows: demand is high, supply is low, competition is fierce and it seems like people have lost their minds. The Indianapolis Bar Association has selected 18 emerging attorney leaders to participate in its Bar Leader Series. With the goal of preparing talented and diverse early-career lawyers to take their places as both leaders in the legal profession and leaders in addressing needs of the community, the Bar Leader Series is an intensive year-long leadership development program designed specifically for Indianapolis Bar Association member attorneys in their third to tenth year of practice.

Beginning in May, select yoga studios began offering FREE strength-building yoga sessions on Saturdays at the Fishers Farmers Market. Social-distanced instruction will take place on the stage of the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater from 8 to 9 a.m. These sessions offer a great opportunity to break a sweat, relieve stress, prioritize self-care and jumpstart your weekend!  

Please take a moment to nominate a female attorney who has demonstrated some of the attributes of Antoinette Dakin Leach by encouraging other women in the pursuit of this honorable profession or blazing a path not taken by others.
