Each November we pause to give thanks for so many things including the best of the best in our Indianapolis legal community.  This is a large legal community filled with outstanding lawyers, judges, paralegals, and law students. This year IndyBar will host its annual Recognition Breakfast on November 22 at 8 a.m. at Meridian Hills.  The event will feature several award recipients, including Luminary Award winner John Kautzman of Ruckelshaus Kautzman Blackwell, a stellar class of 50 Year Practitioners, and several more.

The Indianapolis Bar Association’s Nominating Committee has announced the selection of the 2023 Board of Directors’ Executive Committee. Leading the slate is Lee Christie of Christie Farrell Lee & Bell who has been chosen as the 2025 President of the Indianapolis Bar Association. He will serve as the association’s First Vice President in 2023 and as President-Elect in 2024.

Peter Snow has joined Dentons' as an Of Counsel attorney.  He focuses his practice on businesses and executives with litigation of securities and professional liability, antitrust, insurance and general business disputes.

has joined the firm of SmithAdmundsen LLC as Senior Counsel.


Brittany Kelly is now Deputy Director of the Indiana Judges and Lawyers Assistance Program.  She was formerly Associate Director of Hall Center for Law and Health at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.

, a constitutional law book authored by Mark Nicholson of the Law Office of Mark Nicholson, was released October 4, 2002 and ranked #60 on Amazon's Constitutional Law Books Bestseller's List on just its second day.


Cassandra "Cassie" A. Nielsen is now Of Counsel with the firm of Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC. She was previously an associate at Rubin & Levin PC.


Weston "Wes" E. Overturf
is now Managing Partner of Overturf Law.

Erika Steuerwald has joined Kroger Gardis & Regas LLP as an associate. Her practice is focused on health care related issues.

Interested in participating in leadership as a member of the fundraising-focused 2023 IndyBar Foundation Board of Directors? The following vacancies exist and must be filled by an attorney member: vice president, secretary, treasurer, diversity, equity, and inclusion accountability director, and several director positions.

Board service will begin on Jan. 1, 2023. All board members are to attend an overnight orientation retreat in Bloomington, Indiana Nov. 10-11, 2022. Costs are covered by the foundation.

To be considered for a position on the board of directors you must be a member of the Indianapolis legal community and in good standing with Indiana Supreme Court. Though there are limited leadership opportunities within the board, we are happy to provide everyone expressing interest with opportunities to serve in some capacity for 2023.

Zach Lange has joined Jeselskis Brinkerhoff and Joseph, LLC as an Associate.

Eric Neuburger joined KGR as Of Counsel and a member of the firm’s Sports and Entertainment Law Practice Group. He currently serves the Capital Improvement Board of Managers of Marion County as Stadium Director of Lucas Oil Stadium.

JT Funk assumed the role of Vice President for Institutional Advancement for Bishop Chatard High School, no longer engaged in the traditional practice of law.

John Gallo has joined the Marion County Prosecutor's Office.

Nick Huang has left Harrison & Moberly LLP and is now a a member of Frost Brown Todd, LLC.

Sonya Seeder has left her position with the City of Indianapolis and is now General Counsel for BSA LifeStructures.
