Make an Impact: Promote Peace
Children in high crime areas need our help. Through the Indianapolis Bar Foundation Impact Fund, 2015 grant recipient Peace Learning Center (PLC) is launching innovative programs to encourage happier and safer environments while reducing suspensions, expulsions and instructional time lost.
But we need you! Training sessions for two different PLC programs will be held for IndyBar members. IndyBar volunteers will be prepared to step into PLC partner IPS elementary schools to help bring PLC's restorative justice programs to life...and make a difference in the lives of our city's children.
You do not need to attend both training sessions. Learn more about each program below and pick whichever interests you!
Peace Mentor Training: June 15
Peace Mentors share simple lessons about peace and restorative practices with small groups of elementary school students. This training will include an opportunity to serve as a Peace Mentor to a small group of elementary school students during the last hour of the training. Following the training, volunteers may continue to serve as Peace Mentors as their schedule permits.
