On Tuesday, April 12, 2022, the Indianapolis Bar Association hosted nearly 40 law students at the April Breakfast with the Bar, which was the most attended breakfast event to date. The theme of April’s event focused on "non-traditional" practice and J.D. advantage roles. We were joined by eight Indianapolis attorneys.

On March 22, 2022, we had the pleasure of hosting a moderated discussion with the President of the Indianapolis Bar Association, Judge Alicia Gooden, and Marion County Bar Association President, Katie Jackson-Lindsay. Students at IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law had the opportunity to listen to both presidents share their experiences on how they navigated law school, internships and post-law school employment.

The spring 2022 nomination period for the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Law Student Division Executive Committee has begun. There are At-Large positions available among the three Indiana law schools (Maurer, McKinney and Notre Dame). This is a unique and exciting opportunity to be involved with the planning and implementation of the IndyBar student activities while also enhancing your leadership skills.

On Thursday, March 24, the IndyBar Law Student Division provided an opportunity for law students to learn from and connect with local practitioners in the field of personal injury law. These well-known and experienced practitioners shared their vast professional knowledge and experience, providing law students with great insight into the practice of personal injury law.

On Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022, five Indianapolis attorneys gathered with a group of law students at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law to discuss employment law during the IndyBar’s recent Breakfast with the Bar event. The attorneys, all of whom practice in some area of employment law, included Ron Gilbert, Janelle Kilies and AJ Simonton of Lewis Wagner LLP Melissa Macchia of Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP and Brooke Salazar of Apex Benefits.
