Twelve judges and lawyers who applied for an opening on the Court of Appeals of Indiana will be interviewed by the Judicial Nominating Commission on September 27.

On June 24, 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court issued Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which overturned Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Penn. v. Casey. 597 U.S.     , 2022 WL 2276808 at*1 (June 24, 2022). The Court held that the federal constitution does not provide a right to abortion, and the authority to regulate abortion must be returned to the people and their elected representative.

The IndyBar Appellate Practice Section is excited to again accept applications for the Jill Ellis Scholarship to attend the Appellate Judges Education Institute (AJEI) 2022 Summit from November 10-13 in Scottsdale, AZ. At least one scholarship will be awarded to cover the conference registration fee as well as a portion of travel and lodging expenses, up to a total of $1,500.

The IndyBar Appellate Practice Section is excited to again accept applications for the Jill Ellis Scholarship to attend the Appellate Judges Education Institute (AJEI) 2022 Summit from November 10-13 in Scottsdale, AZ. At least one scholarship will be awarded to cover the conference registration fee as well as a portion of travel and lodging expenses, up to a total of $1,500.
