Recently, the Supreme Court issued its decision in the NCAA v. Alston case, the first time the court has heard a case on college athletics since 1984. The outcome, which affirmed the ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that the NCAA is in violation of the Sherman Act by agreeing to limit how much student-athletes can be provided for academic-related costs, will shape the college sports landscape for years to come.
