For more than a decade, I have worked with families involved in family law disputes as a Coordinator and Director for Marion County Courts. Earlier this year, I made the decision to leave the courts and enter family law practice by joining Swenson & Associates PC. I knew that it would be essential to utilize mediation to help clients resolve disputes with limited court intervention. I also knew that I wanted to be a mediator.

During that time, I have been involved in countless mediations and have seen firsthand how beneficial they can be for the parties. I was intrigued at the mediator’s role in these difficult situations, which involved them dealing with numerous parties and various conflicting personalities. However, I knew I was only able to see half of the picture and wanted to see how it all came together.

I had heard of many things prior to attending the Indybar Bench Bar Conference. I had been told it was unlike other mass-CLE gathering conferences. I heard it was fun and social.
