As part of the plans to reopen restaurants while still maintaining proper social distancing under COVID-19 guidelines, the city of Indianapolis is planning on closing off certain streets from vehicular travel to provide venues additional space for outdoor dining. Recently, the Mayor's Office issued a press release announcing the application process for expanding outdoor seating into the closed-off streets. Restaurants seeking to take advantage of the expanded outdoor seating should apply as soon as possible.

Typically, respective clauses aim at governing the consequences of cases of default in performance being related to circumstances or events, which are beyond the control of the contracting parties.
