The President signed into law the Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act of 2020 on June 5, 2020, to modify the CARES Act. The following article summarizes the changes made by the PPPF Act and describes the questions and concerns that remain unanswered.

The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (the CARES Act) has made billions of dollars in loans available to qualifying businesses.  As part of the application process, businesses have had to make a good-faith certification that seeking loans under the PPP is necessary.

As part of the plans to reopen restaurants while still maintaining proper social distancing under COVID-19 guidelines, the city of Indianapolis is planning on closing off certain streets from vehicular travel to provide venues additional space for outdoor dining. Recently, the Mayor's Office issued a press release announcing the application process for expanding outdoor seating into the closed-off streets. Restaurants seeking to take advantage of the expanded outdoor seating should apply as soon as possible.
