Asylum Seekers Anxiously Cross into U.S. as New Policy Kicks In

New policies aimed at curbing the in-flow of asylum seekers from the southern border went into effect this week, according to Reuters. The new rules require those seeking asylum in the United States and travel through a third country, to seek assistance in that third country. According to Reuters, those who approached the border this week remained cautiously optimistic as officials invited them to cross the bridge and apply. Although asylum-seekers will still be allowed to go through the existing process, they now face a higher bar. Check out the article here.
