IDEM’s Risk-based Closure Guide Has Been Finalized

The Risk-based Closure Guide (Nonrule Policy Document WASTE-0046-R2, or R2), successor to the Remediation Closure Guide (RCG), was presented to the Environmental Rules board on June 8. The Risk-based Closure Guide therefore became effective on July 8. All submittals made after July 8 need to use the Risk-based Closure Guide. As is true for all IDEM Nonrule Policy Documents, the Risk-based Closure Guide is accessible here.

Links to the published levels tables that accompany the Risk-based Closure Guide will be available on the same IDEM web page as our previous screening and closure levels here. As before, we plan to update these tables every year.
