Following the scandal involving former Michigan State gymnastics’ Dr. Larry Nassar and the subsequent $500M settlement, Michigan State’s new insurance policy “broadly excludes insurer liability for sexual misconduct.” This has forced the university to consider new insurance options such as creating its own captive insurance policy.
