Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears announced today that in honor of Child Support Awareness Month, the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will host the 1st Annual Family Support Community Day. The event will take place at the Fay Biccard Glick Neighborhood Center at 2990 W 71st Street, on August 18th, 2022, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The Family Support Community Day will serve as a “one-stop shop,” for a wide variety of family services to address the concerns and needs of families in Marion County. The Prosecutor’s Office understands that in addition to receiving child support and driver’s license assistance families need assistance in housing, legal services, employment, and many other areas in order to maintain a healthy living environment. Vendors and service providers have volunteered to provide access to their organization’s specialized resources and staff.
“The Prosecutor’s Office is dedicated to supporting families in Marion County beyond the courtroom,” Prosecutor Mears stated. “When families have access to the services they need, our neighborhoods become a healthier, safer place. We are proud to bring together community partners that share our mission to help families prosper through support and services.”
The vendors include: Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, Hawthorne Community Center, Firefly Children and Family Alliance, Indianapolis Legal Aid Society, Trusted Mentors, Indiana Diaper Bank, Nurse Family Partnership, RecycleForce, Indiana Legal Services, Inc, Second Helpings, PACE, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Child Support Bureau Parenting Time Helpline, Father and Families Center, Indiana Public Safety Foundation, City of Indianapolis Veteran Services Office, City of Indianapolis Human Resources, HVAF, Veteran Health Indiana Suicide Prevention Team, Marion County Youth Violence Prevention Coalition, Marion County Public Health Department Healthy Start, Marion County Superior Court, Pike Township Fire Department, Maternal and Health Hotline, Anthem, Little Timmy Project, Indy Hunger Network, and Child Care Answers.
