The IndyBar Real Estate and Land Use Section is happy to honor Mary Lisher as the 2018 recipient of the Zeff Weiss Award for Excellence in Real Estate.

As one of the first women partners at then Baker & Daniels, Lisher blazed the trail down which many other women, both at her firm and other firms in the Indianapolis area, have followed. She served as mentor to many real estate lawyers and, even after her retirement last year, is sought out for advice. Through hard work, an expert legal mind and dedication to her clients, she developed an expansive career in her 41 years at Faegre Baker Daniels.

Her nomination for the award notes, "Mary was always a 'go-to' person at Faegre Baker Daniels in regard to questions of ethics. However, the ethical principle for which she is most notable is her encouragement and modeling of civility among lawyers. A lawyer from another firm once said, 'You can’t be a good real estate lawyer and be nice, unless you’re Mary Lisher.'"

Join us to honor Lisher at the section's holiday party on Wednesday, November 28 at the Tap. Details and online registration can be found here.
