The war in Ukraine has affected millions of people; now add Russian and Belarusian tennis players to the list of those impacted. The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (Wimbledon) has banned Russian and Belarusian players from competing in this summer’s event. The Belarusian Tennis Federation has warned Wimbledon that it could face legal action for discrimination over the ban. Supposedly, Wimbledon was given legal advice in advance of the ban, but challenges to the ban are still being explored. With 17 of the top 100 in the men's and women's ranking hailing from Russia or Belarus, the tournament will look drastically different should the ban stand.
