The Indianapolis Bar Association is proud to recognize Jennifer Albrecht of DeLaney & DeLaney LLC as the 2022 IndyBar Paralegal of the Year! Albrecht will be honored with the award at the IndyBar Paralegal Appreciation Luncheon on Wednesday, May 11 at IndyBarHQ.
Albrecht has worked in the legal industry for more than 25 years. She joined DeLaney & DeLaney LLC, a boutique law firm specializing in employment law and civil rights, in 2019. She has worked in various other practice areas throughout her career, including health care litigation, personal injury and class action law.
In addition to her duties as a paralegal, Albrecht makes time to mentor newer paralegals and law firm staff. Those who have worked with her consider her a role model for both support staff and attorneys. She is known for her unwavering kindness and patience, both with colleagues and occassionally difficult clients.
One of her nominators states, "Jennifer is an incredible paralegal. She functions at the highest level of her profession. She thinks strategically. She focuses on each detail. She is amazingly organized. She is extremely smart and thoughtful. She is a consummate team member, encouraging each member of our staff to thrive. She is extremely valuable to our clients and our firm. She is also a complete delight."
In addition to her work as a paralegal, Albrecht gives back to her community. Over the years, she has generously donated her time to the IndyBar by volunteering for the Free Wills Clinic, where she helps to provide wills and advance directives for citizens in need in the Indianapolis community. She also provides complimentary notary services, most frequently in her neighborhood of Irvington. Throughout her long and successful career, among other clients, she has advocated for individuals who have experienced discrimination in employment, individuals whose civil rights were violated and individuals who are survivors of domestic violence.
