Over the weekend, the EPA proposed new guidelines that would affect new municipal solid waste landfills across the nation. The ultimate aim is to reduce the amount of methane being emitted by landfills. According to the EPA, methane has 25 times the potential to cause global warming as carbon dioxide has.
