Thanks to the help of Ice Miller LLP, the IndyBar Legislative Committee is currently monitoring select estate planning and administration law related legislation, and you can view the report here. Check out additional legislative updates and the full bill watch report below.

It's Bill Signing Week at the Indiana Statehouse!

Signed bills are flying out of the second floor of the Statehouse – with one exception! Of the 177 passed bills, Governor Holcomb so far has signed 147 and vetoed one.

According to his veto message, the Governor vetoed HB 1211 – State and local administration – due to concerns for its effect on state agency emergency rules and on broadband projects.  Here is the link to the veto message: https://www.in.gov/gov/files/HEA-1211.pdf

Wednesday, March 23, is the final deadline for the governor to act on the bills he received this session. Governor Holcomb may sign or veto a bill, or leave it unsigned.  If he does not act upon the legislation, it shall become law without his signature eight days after presentment.

The updated bill tracking report can be found here. Legislators have filed a number of COVID-related bills; we have included those in a separate “COVID Legislation” tracking report that can be viewed here.

Bill Watch Reports will continue to be updated until all eligible bills have been signed by Governor Holcomb.
