In September 2021, Georgian chess master Nona Gaprindashvili filed a defamation lawsuit against Netflix, claiming that its allegedly sexist portrayal of her in the hit show "The Queen's Gambit" misrepresented her achievements and tarnished her reputation. Earlier this week, a federal judge denied a Motion to Dismiss filed by Netflix on First Amendment grounds. Read more from the BBC here.
