Where do you work?
I work for Stevenson Legal Group LLC and I’m also an adjunct law professor at the IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law where I teach a class on land use.

How long have you practiced law?
I am starting my 29th year of practicing law and I have been in private practice for 17 years now.

Describe yourself in three words.
Driven, trustworthy and a (forever) learner.

What was your favorite non-legal job?
Resident Assistant in college. I enjoyed meeting and interacting with fellow students from diverse backgrounds and different geographical locations.

Do you prefer to work from home or go to the office?
I prefer working in the office. I believe I am more productive and focused in the office.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
South Africa. I would love to visit the prison cell where Nelson Mandela was jailed for his opposition to Apartheid.

What’s your favorite way to unwind?
I enjoy hanging out with family and friends and attending sporting events. Go IU! Go Pacers! Go Colts!

Who inspires you?
My dad inspires me. Although he is retired now, my dad has been my example of what hard work looks like and he demonstrated the importance of serving the community civically.

What has been the highlight of 2022 for you?
I settled a significant eminent domain case favorably for my clients in January that I was working on for three years.

What’s the last book you read?
Young Thurgood: The Making of a Supreme Court Justice.

Salty or sweet?
Salty in the positive sense. Salt is considered a valuable commodity. It is also a preservative, and it makes a person thirty after it’s internalized. I hope I am a valuable asset to my clients and colleagues, a preserver of what’s right in our legal community and I want to leave people thirsty to learn more and to challenge themselves after they interact with me.

What’s your favorite thing about the IndyBar?
The IndyBar offers a wide array of great services. But if I had to pick one, I would say my favorite is the educational programming it offers, particularly from the Real Estate and Land Use Section.
