Indiana Parenting Time Guidelines: 2022 Changes

Greetings and Happy New Year!

For my family law friends, don’t forget to take a look at the changes to the Indiana Parenting Time Guidelines that are new for 2022! It doesn’t look like the formal version is live on the state website yet but this link will take you to the redlined version. I actually prefer that version because it clearly shows me what is different instead of leaving my brain to go to static and my eyes to glaze over while I try to read it all and figure that out myself. Working smarter but not harder (who are we kidding) is one of my goals for 2022.

Of note: There is a ton of commentary added to illustrate what should be/will be considered when thinking about different kinds of parenting plans as well as commentary on what constitutes “regular care responsibilities” as it relates to children under three years of age. Another big one (and problem solver) is a change to the holiday schedule section which says for those kiddos three years and older who hare not yet enrolled in an academic child care program we’re setting holidays by the district calendar of the primary residence.

There are definitely more, but those are the standouts to get you started. Best wishes for a healthy and profitable year!
