Law360: NCAA Must Face Race Bias Suit Over Academic Penalty Rule

The NCAA has an Academic Performance Program that monitors student-athletes at member institutions as a whole to ensure academic progress. Two graduates of Savannah State University, a historically Black college and university (HBCU), sued the NCAA asserting that the academic program discriminates against student-athletes at historically Black colleges and universities. The NCAA attempted to dismiss the case but an Indiana federal court on Friday found the case for the two former Savannah State student-athletes could proceed. Read more from Law360 here.
