Action Needed by Attorneys Before U.S. District Court Case Management/E-Filing Upgrades - Commercial & Bankruptcy Law News

Commercial & Bankruptcy Law News

Posted on: Oct 13, 2021

On November 8, 2021, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana will both upgrade their Case Management/Electronic Case Filing Systems (CM/ECF) to the Next Generation of CM/ECF (NextGen). This upgrade will provide users with several benefits including Central Sign-On, which allows e-filing attorneys to use one PACER login and password to access any NextGen court (district, appellate, and bankruptcy) in which they practice.

BEFORE November 8, 2021, attorneys must upgrade their individual PACER account. Shared PACER accounts will no longer be usable once the court has upgraded; therefore, each attorney must obtain their own individual PACER account.

ON or AFTER November 8, 2021, attorneys must link their upgraded PACER accounts to their CM/ECF accounts before they can electronically file in a NextGen court.

Complete details and instructions can be found on each court's website:
