The Indianapolis Bar Association is proud to recognize Ruth Rogers of Woodard Emhardt Henry Reeves & Wagner as the 2021 IndyBar Paralegal of the Year! Rogers was honored with the award at the IndyBar Paralegal Appreciation Luncheon on Tuesday, October 5 at the Embassy Suites.

Rogers has worked in the legal industry for more than 50 years. She joined Woodard Emhardt in 1997 and is manager of the Formalities Department. The department centralizes interacting with foreign law firm associates to obtain international patent and trademark rights, complex docketing (U.S. and foreign) and quality control.

Rogers takes it upon herself to provide exceptional support and service to new attorneys and staff. She quickly discerns their individual needs and moves efficiently to provide key information, recommendations, or direction. Fondly known as the go-to for most things foreign at our firm, Rogers receives calls regularly from international associates at law firms throughout the world.

Her nominator states, "She does a lot behind the scenes that makes everyone’s job easier. She can be counted on to seek answers for any question posed to her. She has such personal and professional dedication to the firm that she is incapable of letting any work go out the door that might not be correct. If she did not exist, we would try to invent her."

In addition to her work in the Formalities Department, Rogers gives back to her community. Over the years, she has served as a Sunday school teacher, youth leader, choir director and singles ministry coordinator (a ministry that provides insight into ‘single-ness' for widows, divorcees and individuals who’ve never been married) both in her home church and at a statewide level. Through these many activities with her church, she has taken many “lost” people under her wings, especially children and young adults, all mostly not related to her.

Rogers is a key member of the Woodard Emhardt team and dedicating to serving her firm and her community. Please join us in congratulating her on this well-deserved honor!
